I started saving this past week for a trip to Oklahoma... my stepsons live there and my husband MUST see his kids, both boyz, 7 and 11...


They usually come here for 8 weeks in the summer, but their mother had twins a few weeks ago and the youngest is in summerschool... so we are heading down there in Sept... it is about 1,300 miles away.


They live on Tinker Air Force Base,,, their mother was sleeping with, at age 30, a 17 year old, and when he turned 18, divorced my husband and made this kid join the military... a one-way ticket outta dodge, for her. (Who, me? Judgemental?? LOL)


I don't think she is too excited about us coming down there, but TOUGH!!! My husband pays a grand a month in child-support for 2 kids and dammit, we are going to see those boys!!!! We are renting a convertible for the trip. SOOOOO excited!! Wish me happy and frugal saving!! Can't wait to get to a meeting in Oklahoma!! Lord knows, I'll need it, being around his ex-wife!!!!

That will be awesome for you!  Vacation!  Yea!


I think it will be cool to go to a meeting out of state.  We are blessed to be in Akron, birthplace of AA, but I want to see how meetings are outside of Ohio.  When I go visit my sister in Charlotte this fall, hopefully I will get to catch a meeting or two. 


I have to admit the Oklahoma song went through my head too.  How annoying!
