I have this routine I watch a couple of certain shows before I got ot be it helps me sleep.Last night I heard my self laughing I mean the real laughing not the kind you do so no one knows your heart is breaking and you are loseing your mind but real laughter at the old rerun .
I wanted to cry for a sec well a tear here and there as I post I laughed before I came to the program but it was not just a laugh of pure delight.Wow it is true in all our affairs we can use the prgram.I also got a merciful and loveing God.
And yes, I agree one thousand percent, (see I told you, Im not good at math, haha).
I love laughing, on the 4th of July, my co-sponsor brought her husband to a Barbecue, it was on Sunday, the 1st of July, but anyway, we sat and ate our great food, she and her husband and I just had so many laughs that day, it made it so light-hearted, and fun. Sometimes it seems to be the best medicine for our hearts, I like laughing at a good joke, and when someone is being funny, and I too, can find myself at home sometimes, watching something on TV, that will make me laugh so hard.
The combination of Sun, a good friend, and laughing, I personally don't think it gets better than that. At least that's how I see it.
i have a very dear person in this Program that lives near me, she suffers a lot with chronic horrible pain, and the resulting depression that goes along with that. For some strange reason, I end up putting a humorous slant on something she is talking about, and she and I end up laughing. Don't plan it, but when I can make her laugh real hard, for some reason, it makes me feel good inside.
I know it's rather an old song, but there is a line in "Life is a Bowl of Cherries" that says "Don't take it serious, it's too mysterious" Always makes me smile when I think of it, and I try to think of it ofter.
Also, in that little 24 hour Book, there is one day, in one Prayer, where we are asked to remember to "Wear Life like a Loose Garment" Same analogy, and I remember to remember that also.
A big Hug to you dear, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, TOPIC, WINS HANDS DOWN FOR THIS ALKE.
When I was drinking I never laughed. I mean the sort of real laughter where you have tears rolling down your cheeks and your sides hurting from laughing so much. You have reminded me of a moment a few weeks ago when I couldn't stop laughing. It was over such a silly thing, too. But, I simply couldn't remember the last time that I had laughed like that. Thank you for reminding me.
Take care and have a super day.
Carol

At about 3 or 4 months' sobriety, I was going to bed and my husband was almost asleep. For no reason whatsovere, I just started busting up laughing... at NOTHING!!! And it was uncontrollable laughter. He turned over; kept asking me what's so funny... I just stood there cracking up with my arms out, shaking my head... "I have NO IDEA, Honey!!" Before long, we were both laughing at my laughing. We joked that I had finally CRACKED.... LOL
This laughter continued in spurts long after the lights went out. I fell asleep that night still giggling til I passed out. Felt awesome!! I was being restored to sanity... (???) Sometimes laughing is the only sane way to respond to life. :o)
