Hope everyone here in the U.S.of A. has a safe and fun plan for the Holiday!
For those here and abroad, it is a special day for alkies, too, to celebrate Independence... from alcohol.
I remember a few years ago I attended a huge night-time fireworks display, for the first time, SOBER.... the AA who was standing next to me and was in tears... she said, "I have seen this a million times before, but it was never like this... just LOOK at the colors...." We stood there in awe, like we were 3 years old again, mouths hanging open....

Hey, being in UK, I hadn't really thought about 4th July, but I love your idea of making it a celebration of my independence from alcohol. I can't recall how many years it will be since I was sober on that date, but I'm so looking forward to it now.
Thanks for a great idea.
Take care,
Q

We always watch the fireworks from the coffeeshop we hang out at, no drinking there... the 4th has always been sober for me... but Saturday I'm going with my sponsor and some of her friends to a concert and fireworks and they'll be serving beer at the park... I think I'll be ok having my sponsor there though, let's hope so anyway.
