"It is always your next move."

-- Napoleon Hill

The great benefit of heightened awareness is that we have more choice in how we live our lives. At any moment, we can purposefully choose a new experience for ourselves. We can choose to pay attention, breathe more deeply, laugh, rest, play, appreciate, do something different - the possibilities are endless.

Whenever you remember, TAKE YOURSELF OFF AUTO-PILOT and really examine your situation. Take charge and make a choice that will enrich your experience. At the end of the day, reflect on what happened and how you felt when you chose a new line of thought, feeling or action.

"We cannot tell what may happen to us in the strange medley of life. But we can decide what happens in us -- how we can take it, what we do with it -- and that is what really counts in the end."

-- Joseph Fort Newton

"When a defining moment comes along, you can do one of two things. Define the moment, or let the moment define you."

-- Tin Cup (the movie)

"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."

-- Neil Peart

Hi Chris,

Thanks for this. just got a call from someone on the Board, and guess what, I am back into Sunday morning.

Afer reading and re-reading this Post you just made, I have made a decision to take myself "off" of Auto-Pilot.

I have chosen to use the Gifts of this Program. The big one for me is Gratitude.

Will make up a Gratitude List, when I finish this Response. The bottom line is "what I was really feeling in all the "Being Frozen in Fear" hate to admit it, but it was all about my Wows, poor me, with all my fears.

I can choose to continue this day, with a very serious concern for someone that I love, and let it be God's world, God's Timing.

Remember that song? "Smile when your heart is acheing, Smile, even though it is breaking, you'll see that life is still worth while, if you just Smile."
Korney yes.

I am in the middle of a Storm in my life, and do know that my Higher Power, will hold on to me and keep me strong, and silent and calm right smack dab in the middle of the storm. My Higher Power has never failed me before. But first I have to turn this all over to Him. I will let go of this fear, heartbeat by heartbeat.

Thank you for this Amazing Attitude Adjustment, we all have our fears, that is a given, sometimes they are doozies. I believe with all my heart, that God wants to know about our Gratitude, first, then, and only then can he help us concour our Fears.

Love and Hugs to my dear Sister, Chrissy,

Toni

Wowee Wren... you are in that place, too!!! I cannot imagine ever being 'unaware' again... I guess it would be impossible... someone once said, "Ignorance is bliss"... WRONG!!!!!!!!

The best way I can describe my life today, nutz-n-boltz and ups and downs and all, is "Grace and Stillness". Even when the world around me is going 90 mph, I can always just sit and BE and watch... and today I KNOW this... what a blessing. You know, we AA's share a lot of pain and struggles... but to share the peace of mind is an incredible reward.

A blessing I have received of late is that I am crying tears of joy here and there. I have never been able to cry in my life; told myself I wouldn't after my mother died when I was just 4... the only time I could cry was if I was angry or terrified. No sad crying allowed.... I have wanted for years to actually be able to cry, in therapy and such, but no go. Then, just lately, I will well-up with beautiful tears when my spirit is touched and carressed by the joys of seeing good things happen to people!!! I feel so incredibly blessed to have received this awesome gift... it is wondrous beyond anything I have ever received and I deeply cherish that I have tears of joy today!! I know this is the product of a miracle and evidence of a spiritual breakthrough for me. SOOOOO GRATEFUL!!
