Getting older, things changing.. One day everthing perfect, care free... next day f**k*d up, everthing out the window.

Years ago - nothing to worry about, everything great, happy carefree..... now everything tits up more things to frown at than to smile at..

A family so perfect now so f**k*d up...

Family still here, still together... but none ourselves. Shadows wondering instead of people living

Yes, this is where I try to keep reminding myself to hate the disease.  I recently read a quote and wish I could remember it exactly.   Having family nearby can be a blessing, or having family at a distance can be a blessing, depending on the situation.  But a family lives on in you.....forever...our hearts, minds, souls,

I try to put my faith in my program and Higher Power to heal and put things in perspective from time to time.

Something like....

If everyone else around me is pulling a wagon load of manure...Its their manure.:)

If I get too close...I start to smell....

"Ide rather detatch..and carry a can of air spray..."

Their stuff...not mine...

Hows everything else goin Rob?...getting to lots of meetings?

Hi There Rob,

This Post made me feel very overcome with sadness.

Shadows, made me think of that song my Stevie Nicks, "Shadows of a Woman", you probably don't remember that song, before your time.

Without living with a Program of Recovery, I do remember many years of feeling just like a "shadow" of a person.

The Disease of Alcoholism, robes us of our life, and I say a Prayer for you and your Mom and Dad, that someday, maybe tomorrow, you can know the great joy of coming in the sunlight, leaving the shadows, we all love you Rob, you do feel that, I hope, and hope for your Recovery someday.

It is ALL in that first Step Rob, "We are Powerless over alcohol - that our lives have become unmanageable".

Love and Hugs to you, Toni
