Good Morning Everyone!

Its a little foggy out right now but they say its going to turn off beautiful!  Sunny & 75!  Early this morning when I was sleeping I felt the other side of the bed move--my husband works midnights so I knew it wasnt him.  Both dogs were sleeping in their own beds so it wasnt them either.  I rolled over & it was my 3 yr old--he smiled at me through those sleepy little eyes & said he missed me & wanted to cuddle!  I curled up with him & we both fell back asleep!  Before when I was drinking I never would have woken up if he came in my room--if I did I would have still been buzzed & wouldnt remember it when I woke up even a couple hours later.  Its funny how everyday things still happen that amaze me--amaze me that I missed before.  Things that I will never get back again.  Children grow up so fast.

I dont want to miss anything anymore.  I dont want to wake up with a hangover or pass out on the bed (I always said fell alseep early before!) at 7:30 p.m.

Just for today, promise yourself you are going to look for something new - something you didnt notice before--look for something to make you smile & make you realize how much better the day is without a drink.  I know you can do it!

Love, Sherry

What a great post Sherry.  I know what you mean.  If I was hungover, I would haved kicked the kids out of my room and missed the whole snuggle.  Huge loss.  So glad I can appreciate the little things (and little people) today.

I will look for something today that I would not have noticed while I was drinking.  I think that sounds like a lovely idea.  It reminds me of when my sponsor and I talk on the phone in the mornings and we both have something we need to turn over to God.  One of us will say "let's have a step 3 day" and whenever anything comes up that we are having trouble with, we think of the other person and remember that we promised to turn everything over today.  We can do it together.  The support feels great.

I will let you know what I notice today.  Can't wait!  Thanks!

HI Sherry,

Several times throughout the day yesterday I thought of you.  Look for something you would not have noticed.  Well, this is certainly the time of year for it.  Flowers are in blue, the smell of fresh cut grass, families having picnics, kids playing out doors.  All of that stuff is so beautiful.  The smells especially.  I would not have paid much attention to this while drinking.  Thanks for the reminder.  What a beautiful world.
