Did you know that every 16 minutes someone in the USA commits suicide? 600 people died last year in my state alone (US Center for Disease Control).Look it up and do the math. Also, every 2 minutes someone in the US is admitted to a psych ward(CDC). I wonder how many have alcohol/addiction problems? Pls do your best to raise awareness. Thanks. Bob
Howdy Bob..Welcome to MIP..and those stats? Yup..I beleive yu...
In this area..weve got AA and Alanon phone contact numbers, plus literature.. in every med center, hospital, police office, jail, abuse centers, and even local public tv and radio announcements..and the list goes on..and this has just started over the last few years..Our attendance at meetings has more than doubled...since this awareness program started..and the AA hotline calls have tripled....
Its also great to see young people in their teens and early 20s comming in..
We keep trying to attract...and do what we can..but as you know...its never enough...:)
And the self will and self sufficiency stuff? Well..we know all about that one dont we? I was one of those unfortunates...that tried the MY Route, many times..never worked...

rosie___________ yeah, i can relate to that.....i had a fierce will that i needed in the abuse days in order to survive...so my former "helper" turned into being my biggest liability in the "post abuse" times.....it was hard, giving over my will to my "stronger life partner..(hp)"....but since i did, things ARE going a bit better....oh the s*** is still happening, but i can do what i can, and walk away, give it over..........and the "my route??" yep, bit me in the butt many times............so true....
