Preamble
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smelling the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies. . . . --Erich Fromm
A robin comes alive by breaking out of its shell. The small bird struggles to break out of the safety of the blue egg. Once out, it struggles to grow, slowly learning how to eat, walk, and fly.
We, too, struggle as we grow. There is brokenness in all of our lives--broken hearts and broken dreams. Yet these experiences open our way to a world of growing. We find comfort in the presence of a Power greater than ourselves, in the same way a baby bird finds warmth near the body of its mother. We, too, can grow stronger every day, learning to take in nourishment and trying out our new wings.
What struggles have made me as strong as I am today?

The Good News is I do not believe that the snow will hurt the Geraniums, the fresh new flower will just pop back up, over the wilted ones.
I have an old friend that lives up on the tip of Idaho, near Cana DU, and told me she went through 28 degree temps just a few days ago, now they are have a heat wave of over 90 degrees---- Just go with it, no point in fighting with the weather, eh?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Who will tell whether one happy moment of love or the joy of breathing or walking on a bright morning and smelling the fresh air, is not worth all the suffering and effort which life implies. . . . --Erich Fromm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you Phil for this today, very Beautiful words, I do believe that all suffering, whether it me emotional, physical, mental anguish, even the stuff that can make the soul hurt, is, when we have processed, will deepen and expand our hearts, to be more stout hearted than before. These various Pains are to be learned from, even when it is the last thing you want to do, (a natural/human response), but will increase our love of the simplest, things, air that we breath, a bird singing, a breeze that you can feel almost whispering to you to enjoy the feeling, and we really do not learn these things, like the privledge of being alive, no conditions, if we are not put through these lessons. They remind me of the Yin Yang, the balance. The deeper the pain, the deeper the simple joy of living will be experienced. And Thank you too, Erich.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "All adversity has an Opportunity in it"---- These words have made me bristle at them at times.....then you get to the other side...........and have a deeper understaning of those words.
Have a wonderful Snowy Sunday, love and Hugs, Toni
