"Be mindful of how you approach time. Watching the clock is not the same as watching the sun rise."
-- Sophia Bedford-Pierce
What would your soul consider a waste of time?
To a soul, the only real time is right NOW. Not the future or the past. It lives in connecting deeply with the rich experience of each moment. Through awareness we can be in touch with our authentic self and how it perceives all of the energies and guidance around and within us.
"Chronos is clocks, deadlines, watches, calendars, agendas, planners, schedules, beepers. Chronos is time at her worst. Chronos keeps track. ...Chronos is the world's time. Kairos is transcendence, infinity, reverence, joy, passion, love, the Sacred. Kairos is intimacy with the Real. Kairos is time at her best. ...Kairos is Spirit's time. We exist in chronos. We long for kairos. That's our duality. Chronos requires speed so that it won't be wasted. Kairos requires space so that it might be savored. We do in chronos. In kairos we're allowed to be ... It takes only a moment to cross over from chronos into kairos, but it does take a moment. All that kairos asks is our willingness to stop running long enough to hear the music of the spheres."
-- Sarah Ban Breathnach
"He who postpones the hour of living rightly is like the rustic who waits for the river to run out before he crosses."
-- Horace

Funny, isn't it, how friends and a Power greater than ourselves can neutralize nightmares?
Worked thru that FEAR of the surgery, so wanted you to know, your "Comfort words" made me really laugh. Of course I was the one setting the image up for the "Big Chair", I admit it.
Nah, those damned eggs weren't perfect, so I got frustrated and broke em all, LOL. Too lumpy by far, and my big ol' butt was gonna break them eventually.
I have a real personal thing about time---where I live, it tends to stand still. I'm sure that retirement is part of it. We decided when we moved here to not do clocks. Ron being retired military, and me in the medical field, it was like we spent our lives timing things, waiting on things, meeting deadlines, etc. So we opted for allowing a clock on the stove, and I grab my watch when we have someplace we need to go. We use the alarm clock for the rare occassions where we may have to be somewhere in the morning. So we are guided by our internal clocks, which I really like. On the evening when there's something special I watch each week, then I keep an eye out. but that's it. I find that living with an inner rhythm keeps me more aligned with nature, which is an (obviously) big part of my spirituality. I feed the various critters around here pretty regularly, and lest I have the audacity to oversleep, there's a crow that sits and talks right outside my bedroom window. And then the squirrel screams at him. Which means the cats start thumping on the screen door. LOL, so I suppose my life is dictated by the hunger pangs of those around me. And the smell of morning coffee......not so bad a way to live. How do I get that signature thingee at the bottom of the page to go away, or replace it? It popped up one day, and I haven't been able to figure out what to do with it.....
