What tools are in your toolbox today?

Good morning, all.

Every once in a while I've found it's been helpful to me to look through my "toolbox" of things I've learned through the program.  It gives me a bit of an inventory and reminds me what's in there for when situations arise.  My sponsor at one point had me do it just as if I was doing a store inventory, just putting it in alphabetical order.  A= acceptance, B= Big Book, C= courage, etc...you get the picture.

So I guess I was curious what tools are in your toolbox today that weren't there before the program, or if they were there, you didn't know how to use.

My sponsor told me that tools left in the toolshed unused for a long time lose their effectiveness, tend to rust, etc...  So I do have to do this on a regular basis.  Maybe it sounds like a silly topic, but I'd love to hear what you guys have to say on it.

Karen,

I think it's a wonderful topic!  I know for me those tools are very important.....

Prayer, meetings, my sponsor, prayer, this board, prayer, acceptance, tolerance, prayer, forgiveness, prayer!

I have been praying for guidance and have been trying to let God help me by getting out of the way.  I have to tell you, in the last week since I've been sober again and doing all of this praying some wonderful things have happened in my life.  I believe that my HP is working in my life today......I wasn't so sure of that before but I truly believe there is no other explanation for the things that have gone on in the past week for me.....I know it wasn't my doing!

Thanks for bringing this up.  I would love to hear what others have to say on this as well...

Jen
