 I have suffered from the mildly for quite a while, and decided to check into it.....

A person experiences relief from panic after drinking alcohol, then finds that as it wears off, his anxiety returns more intensely than before, creating a treacherous and hard-to-break cycle.
{in the book, “No More Fears,” Douglas Hunt, MD, 1988 and Robert Thayer, PhD, author of “The Origin of Everyday Moods.” 1997}

Alcohol depresses the central nervous system causing fatigue, agitation and anxiety.
{“Anxiety and Stress,” Dr. Susan Lark, Energy Times magazine, Nov./Dec. 1998}

Drinking alcohol produces physiological stress, that is, some of the body’s responses to alcohol are similar to other stressors. Yet, individuals also drink to relieve stress. It is a paradox that people engage in an activity that produces effects similar to those that they are trying to relieve.
{“Drinking and Stress,” Alcohol Alert, NIAAA, April 1996}

There is danger when relying on false coping mechanisms, like alcohol use, which only adds to one’s stress burden.
{in the book, “Stress and Healing,” by Christopher Hobbs. 1997}

Hi Doll. I Can't agree more with this post. That situation is what got me into big trouble with alcohol in 2004, and the panic attacks just got worse. After my detox I was totally without a panic attack for ages.

The hospital didn't help much, they just put it down to 'an unusual reaction to alcohol'. It was only through my own research that I descovered what a panic attack is!

Wish I'd known all this in 2004!

Bye for now

Best wishes

Chris.

PANIAC ATTACKS

well they're not fun....they can control every aspect of your life and can render one debilatated.

i have ptsd and when i get one it just is not fun....i had a really bad one once that took a few days for me to calm down from.

this is a pretty serious issue and is no way a joke lord knows all anyone wants to do is just function and they just find a way to screw up plans and relationships.

i have tried to let things roll of my back and talk myself through things so i don't go into a full blown attack but this isnt always do-able.

i always know when i am about to have one because i find that my physical body starts way before i do and then i can sort of feel really woosy in the head...just alot of vibes that set me off.

either way i am alot of work just to have a normal life lots of mental discipline and keeping stress at a manageable level and prepair myself for new things slowly...

god bless anyone who is afflicted by this stuff its hard

you all have a good day
