Hello everyone, My name is Carmie and I'm an alcoholic, I am also an addict too. Because A/A has a singleness of purpose wich is Alcoholisim I show my respect for the a/a program and introduce my self as an alcoholic there is no room for my ego. A/A derived from the washatonins, and they failed because they tried to help anyone and everyone. I sort of resent the talk of drugs that is going on rite now yes alcohol is a drug, but when we start talking of other things than alcohol in here, I feel A/A looses Its power. This is not posted for me to offend anyone, It is just my opinion.
Hey Carmie.:) I personally, respect your post my freind....
And this is just my opinion, on it all....
We post and discuss, a lot of different topics in here...
Sometimes its serious AA stuff...for ourselves.. reaching out to newcommers,
and others that are going through tough times, in recovery
Most importantly, its sharing our experience, strength, and hope, with each other..
Sometimes its just coffee shop stuff.....relationship stuff...all kinds of stuff..and just comunicating with each other..as recovering alcoholics
We get to know each other, also... on a personal level..
On a daily basis..we share laughter, sadness, concerns, interests, ...and our daily lives..with each other..
First and foremost is our AA program, and our sobriety....that teaches how to live without alcohol...We all realize that...
AA loosing its power here? Not a chance.(smile)
If someone reaches out for help...on this board...You will likely see...or have allready seen the power of AA at work..Its POWERFUL....Everyone steps up to the plate....100percent
Hey...wede like to get to know you too...our freind...share of yourself with us...
Luv yu....

The Washingtonians also failed because the didn't have something like AAs 12 traditions to guide how they dealt with sociaty and each other. Tradition 6, An AA group ought never endore, finance, or lend the AA name to any related facility or outside enterprise lest problems of money, property, and prestige devert us from our primary purpose. The Washingtonians got involved in polatics, the temprence movement and othe outside issues which tore it apart. 20 years later it was as they never existed

Sometimes when I raise my hand at a meeting, I say I am and Alcoholic/Addict, because I AM, no one ever coughs or don't see any raised eyebrows. It wouldn't matter it they did, I just need to remember that I am a Recoverying Alcoholic- Addict.
O.k., you got me, hate to admit my ignorance here, but I do not know what Rule 62 is. Haha.
