Morning Mikey...

We have one guy that we just haul to meetings...that would fit in,  the category..youre asking about..

And thats all we can really do for him...

Most of those meetings are step discussion.....

He has been sober for almost 2 years.....

You have a good day...

Hi Mikey,

One of the people I am working with, I am having a tremdeous porblem with, she has had 30 years, had a relapse, has about 6 months now, she asked me to Sponsor her, and I stated that on only one condition, that we redo the Steps, well the last few months she cannot focus on that, so I have told her, I cannot be her sponsor, but I am her friend, she cannot seem to read the books and get into action, she has major back problems, and takes SO much medication for this pain, I cannot get through. When I talk to her on the telephone, she sounds so over- medicated, there is little I can do.

All I can tell her is to PLEASE - WORK with her Doctor in getting these drugs managed, so that her thinking can be clear, that's all I can do for her. And do ask her to get to meetings,
But her focus in only on her Problems, I never hear the 'solution' concept.

We can only do what we can do, and we have to turn it over.

This is not the same case as who you are discussing, the similarity is that due to her over medication, she also cannot read or write the Step work, and cannot focus on reading the book, but I do believe that the AA Big Book, as well as Steps are on CD, or DVD, or tape form. Seems like I have seen it on the internet, somewhere, hopefully, someone will Post the info. for you.

There is no problem that does not have a solution, in my case I have been asking my Higher Power to direct all my communications with this woman I am working, or attempting to work with. What I am doing is just loving her until she can love herself enough to get into a Solution, and Pray for her.

Good luck in this great effort of yours.

Toni
