I'm looking at kind of revamping how I work my daily inventory...typically as I lie down at night for bed, I begin reviewing my day. Unfortunately, with the new hours I keep due to taking my son to work at 3 in the morning, I find myself falling asleep in the midst of the inventory.
So, I was kind of hoping to hear how others in the program do their daily inventory.
I know that for me, in doing this daily inventory, I need to also be in an attitude of prayer, asking HP to show me what I need to see for that day, the good and the bad, and then when something does need correcting, I ask for help. But, when one starts dozing midway, even the evening prayer kind of falls by the wayside.
I do start my day with prayer as well, praying the Serenity Prayer and asking HP to first take me out of the center of the universe (that little addition was the suggestion of my sponsor many years ago and has remained ever since), asking that HP let me be of service to others today, requesting the knowledge of his will for me for that day and the strength to carry it out. Which is not a bad prayer at all. But I guess I'm just kind of looking to expand that as well.
I am not offended when others share their own conception of HP, but as it might not be welcome on the list so much, please feel free to share with me privately as well.
Again, it's growth time again around here and I tend to look to the ESH of others when I'm in this boat.
Have a wonderful day all, unless of course you've already made other plans.
hi, we are doing Step 10 on the Step Work board now. Please check it out. We post excerpts from the alanon literature, AA 12x12 book,, and the ACoA pages from the '12 Steps for Adult Children' book. Would like to have your questions and share there as well as here for discussion on it.
