Wasnt sure wether to post this in the cookbook thread but dont think it would qualify.
With all the talk on marmite and such.. just thouht id tell you what i just had for breakfast cos people at work go "Yuk!" when i tell them iv had this...
2 pieces of toast with tomato sauce and cold (not melted) slices of cheese on them.
I also love baked beans with my roast dinners.. a roast is not a roast without them.. though again i get a "Yuk!" from people at work when i tell them..
And no this is not a drink/drunk food.. this is what i like sober or drunk..
ps.. the tomato sauce has to be spread onto the toast before the cheese.. the other way round is nasty!!
well, it happens that I'm very near where the recipes for baked beans comes from. It comes from the Indians and the early colonists started making it,,, there is one called Boston baked beans,,, looks like we dumped your tea out and gave you beans in return.
I think I heard Elvis used to like grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches,,, can't remember if they had cheese on them.
good morning y'all,,, we got some breakfast ideas for yas,
love in recovey,
amanda

Hey Rob I tell you a real nice meal, I share this with my dog, (not off the same plate)
Get some "best" sausages from the supermarket, lincolnshire, cumberland, butchers specials. etc. cook them all in a med-small baking tin for 20-25 mins until golden brown, then pour in a tin of beans stir it all up to mix the juices, cook for a further 5 mins and serve,
I love bacon or sausage and eggs with fresh cut tomatos on top,,,or an omelet with green peppers, mushroom, oinion, cheese and pepper roni....I know my spelling sucks,,,but honest I don't mind haha

Thats quite interestin. i had no idea the indians (red i presume) started making them.. lol grillied peanut butter and banana... hmm sounds intereting.
Friend at work recons darylea and cucumber on toast is nice. Not tried it yet.. I must admit i asked her if it was a pregnancy thing but she said no.
Iv often wonderd.. did early colonists.. invent colonic irrigation? lol.. soz..
I make my peanut butter and banana sandwiches this way. I get out a ripe banana and cut it in half, cuz that is about how much fits in,,,, and get out the peanut butter. I put two slices of bread in the toaster and while it is toasting I mash the banana up so it is ready when the toast pops up. Then I put the peanut butter on one slice and spread the mashed banana on the other slice,, and voila! It is good on toast cuz it is warm,, but I don't grill it.
I think I'm going to make some blueberry pancakes.
I'm going to put some recipes on that site,, I hope there isn't any deadline. I got out my recipe box,, and ended up sorting through it, but I'll get to it.
hey,,, Rob.. I would put that Marmite recipe on the list... from what I've read the stuff is pretty nutritious, especially with the B vitamin complex.
could prolly put peanut butter and banana sandwiches on it too, eh?
how about french toast?

hmmm. My first thought...as I looked in the mirror..this morning was fruitcake...I wonder where that came from... ..cold pizza..coffee..and alky seltzer
I remember the monday mornings well. for me it was always sausage drenched in redwine, chicken and stuffing, or a Mcdonalds breakfast. and loads of coke and mars bars followed by alky setzer (after I had puked the syrup that tasted of booze)
do you remember that dry but sweaty grubby feeling as it seeps out your pores? and all the reciepts in your wallet, not knowing where you went and oh fuck where is all my money gone? who the hell is this by my side in bed? where did these cuts come from, where is my jacket, where are my shoes, another one was I used to sleep walk

Some mornings I make french toast, or oatmeal, my favorite is honey nut cheerios and a banana, or..............in this am it was leftover scalloped potatoes and ham and a glass of oj. That is the advantage of living alone, whatever floats your boat you can have. So I do.
I am not wild about peanut butter, but every once in awhile have a pbj, but have to have grape jelly to make it. Wouldn't be a pbj without grape. Then it is with a big glass of milk. Holdover from being a wee tyke I would suspect.
I love breakfast, ofton have it for dinner, like eggs and hashbrown and bacon or sausage, yum!! My favorite meal! I'm easy.
