I have  a very wide range when it comes to music. i love Eminem.. I also love Maria Callas... I also love Korn etc.. My fav band is prob No Doubt .. i also like chart stuff.. There isnt much i dont like..

At the moment i cant stop listening to Evanesence - Fallen (albumn)..  I know its a religious band and i am totaly not religous... . but like i say at mo i cant stop listenin to it.. I have listened to it ALMOST all the drive home today..  I love it and it helps me relax and deal with my current shit.. I might not be into the same music tomorrow if any.. but today and recently it has been.

I just wondered what music you guys like and sometimes get you through?  Mine changes constantly..but at mo its Evanesence.... It could be some hard rap stuff bout shooting people tomorrow or perhaps Maria Callas wailing foreign opera..

So..tell me what you like and what gets you through..out of interest??

Hi Rob. Pogues (Although thats a bit too much like drinking music), Levellers, G&R, Metallica, Bob Dylan & and Bob Marley. Generally tend to prefer stuff that involves musical instruments rather than electronic effects!

Sorry to hear that you had bad weather on Shell! Any sign of Maes Artro being open? I've heard it's changed ownership again!

I'm assuming from the fishing story that you are one of the people that stands on the 'bathing beach' in the evening fishing (Or in the water). If you are, I probably have seen you or met you! I'm always on that beach when I can be, looking out down the Lleyn and over to Cricieth.... Just remember the good sunsets not the fog rolling in!

Have a great day, bye for now.

Chris.

I also like a very wide range of music. Sometimes soft and sometimes loud, sometimes religious and sometimes earthy. I like some Latin music in Spanish, both rythm and romantic. For soothing my nerves I like John Denver, John Michael Talbot. I like Black Gospel music sometimes, and also tenors like Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli. I like Willie Nelson,,  like "On the Road Again" and "Angel Flying too Close to the Ground". I like Elvis. There is a type of music called 'Praise and Worship' music that lifts me up. I like New Flamenco for passionate music. I guess the only types of music that I generally don't like is jazz and rap and head banging music. Music is important to me, and I like to sing and play a little keyboard and guitar.

thanks for asking,,  I'll be interested in seeing what other people say , too,

love in recovery,

amanda

It's funny, bringing up music this way.

For the longest time, I was very very careful of what I listened to. Kind of like, when you break up with your mate, the last thing you want to listen to is "your song"? So, I found myself avoiding music that my mind related to partying, drugs and drinking. At least for the first several months. I missed it like a lost lover, so listened constantly to a rock station that did not play oldies. Thankfully, I've always loved Gershwin, Debussey, classical violin, so I could fill my music hunger up to a point. But, jeez, play Steely Dan and my cells felt like partying. Now, of course, I listen to all of it and no problem. In fact, sometimes a Stones song will come on, something that makes me start armchair dancing, and if we're in the car I think I embarass my husband. I told him to pull over, I want to get out and dance on the pavement, but oddly, he refused to do that. Go figure. Yeah, I'm a 60s - mid 80s fan, old hippy stuff, old rock. And then there's David Bowie.......LOL, Wren

Hey Rob, Glad you made it home okay and sounds like you had a semi-good time.

Music....I love anything with a beat. With that said, there are oldies I can't listen to , cause they take me back to the drinking days. I listen to a lot of Contemporary Christian music, Gospel, some country, rock ,jazz, classical...I even listen to the new stuff, I guess because I got use to it when my son was still at home. I like to listen to the lyrics, then judge the song.It was weird , I never listened to Frank Sinatra. but my son does, so he educated me a little.

Music soothes the soul.

Hey all,

Music that I love top listen to... I love the Dropkick Murphy's.. they're actually named after an old detox...also a lot of the stuff on their earlier releases was about sobriety.  Also Social Distortion... another sober band... Story of My Life, Ball and Chain = Drunkalogue; I WasWrong = Step Four; When the Angels Sing = The promises.  Very cool bands.  I got sober listening to them.  Mike in Boston
