NO MORE STRUGGLE. . .

And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone--even alcohol.
                                     Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 84

When A.A. found me, I thought I was in a for a struggle, and that A.A. might provide the strength I needed to beat alcohol. Victorious in that fight, who knows what other battles I could win. I would need to be strong, though. All my previous experience with life proved that. Today I do not have to struggle or exert my will. If I take those Twelve Steps and let my Higher Power do the real work, my alcohol problem disappears all by itself. My living problems also cease to be struggles. I just have to ask whether acceptance--or change--is required. It is not my will, but His, that needs doing. from AA Daily Reflections

>>>>wow, gammy can i relate to this---- i used to think i had to FORCE/  fight the program to  MAKE it work for me......like the   aggressor,  bull in the china shop....bulldozing my way through or nothing would happen........now i just worry about  1---working the 12steps   2---sponser work       3----REconnecting with my inner child, and my inner higher power,   and RELAX.....just let the process take its course....i am much more peaceful  just  "showing up for duty"   doing what my sponser suggests,   step work,  inner child work,    and TRUSTING in the process.......the less i "fight it"   the more cooperative "life"  seems.........the chinease have it right when they advocate "NON resistance"    things go sooo much better............thanks for reminder.......hugs n light/ rosie

When I first read this reflection, I thought"Hmmmm, no more struggle.I don't know...sometimes I do struggle." Then I realized as long as I turn it over to God...work the steps , I don't have to struggle. I can do this so much easier then I could a few years ago.Gods will not mine. I know it is Gods will for me to be sober, so when I turn it over to Him , He deals with it and I don't take that first drink today.

(((Hugs)))
