Sometimes this gets to be a big issue at meetings. This Quote was mailed to me thought I'd post it.
"Try to remember that though God has wrought miracles among us, we should never belittle a good doctor or psychiatrist. Their services are often indispensable in treating a newcomer and in following his case afterward."
~Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, The Family Afterward, pg. 133~
Hi Rick. I agree with the post. It was the librium and vitamin saturation IV that got me through the first week in a detox.
If in doubt seek medical advise!
Hope uou have a great day.
Bye for now
Chris.

i go with chris.....docs adn meds are OK, if needs it....
i am on anti anxiety meds (used as needed) and in conjunction with my recovery program, iam WAY better than i used to be...
true, i don't want to suppress any feelings w/ my meds and i don't....there is a need for balance....i take them just to quiet an anxiety attack....however i still investigate the trigger/ feeling that caused it...........so for me??? it works...i cannot function with full blown anxiety attacks, so i quiet them, AND work on the fear trigger or feeling that is trying to come up...........hope this made sense, rosie
yep, rosie,, makes a lot of sense,, I agree with you. That's a lot of why you're making such great progress, eh? combination of you working hard, and knowing your limitations and where you need your Higher Power, and where you need a doctor and meds. thanks for sharing your e,s & h.
love in recovery,
amanda
