hello, I'm a new guy in aa and doing good for now one day at a time so any ho.
new to the new guy means I'm new but even now I see newer people than me and it inspires me to keep going each day just so I can keep seeing newer faces each week and I can share my story with them cause a lot of them are my age or younger and that gives me hope because alot of the reguler members around are old timers and they can be pretty hard on new people so I can be the softer side that some need when they start the step work we have to admit that going into the steps takes a little pactience and commitment from all partys so not to scare away the new comers because as i've learned in aa over the last year. The steps are not easy to accept at first It took me almost a year to finally get into the steps and start doing them. all i'm trying to say is that some need softness from the most unlikly person in the room and some tuff love from others that is what it took for me.

Hi Jason,

And I ditto Phil, Welcome Back. So you have stayed sober since April, Wow, that is quite a big deal. I went back and read your other Post.  Were you able to stop The camproel?? is that how you spell it.

Anyway, hope you dont stay away that long again.  Tell us, if you will what is going on with you right now, so we can get an idea of where you are at, so we can offer support from that Vantage Point.

A Big Hug to You,   I am not new to this Program, but I alway want to "feel" new, as well, we can offer our Experience Strength and Hope, from a fresh prospective.

So it is very, very good to have you back with us, and again Welcome Back.

hugs, Toni

The world's greatest sponsor would also be the world's greatest circus preformer.  Not just anyone is so acrobatically skilled as to be able to wrap both their arms around your shoulders and give you that great big hug you so desparately need, while simultaneously giving you that good, solid size 9 square in the seat of your pants that you also need equally as much.

I personally believe that it is truly important to welcome the somewhat reluctant, uncertain newcomer first with that big ol' double arm hug.  That way you got a real good grip on them so they can't run away from you when you have to administer the shoe leather as needed.

hi!  It is good to hear from you again,,, and good to know that things are in progress for you. I know people in the rooms that like to stay quiet and that is fine...  You can share as little or as much as you feel comfortable with.

God bless you,

amanda

Welcome Jason. I too am new here in the forum. Been in the program for quite awhile, but this is the very first online support group I've ever belonged to. First forum, for that matter. I hope you'll post more soon. Keep comin' back! Blessings, Wren

As I grow into year # 9 (Miracle...) I just went through some recent insanity (Fear) that was challenging. From that I have had another deeply profound awakening: It is indeed a Day at A Time in this new life. And mine is a new life entirely. -Again. The 12 steps, and putting them into my life has been the key. I revisit today "The Promises", coming to life for me day by day. So refreshing to get your enthusiasm. Thanks for being here.  -paul

Welcome Jason-

I agree, it is helpful for newcomers to see people with just a few weeks or months sober, because we can relate to that-
