Good question, for me it`s an opportunity to be reminded as to what I am, an acoholic finally out of denial. I came/come here to read up on a subject that despite/because the denial years is very new to me. I`m determined not to get complacent and to nurse myself back to rude health and to look back, initially in a years time, as to the improvement sobriety has made to my family`s welfare and fortune.
I identify with certain posters, become uplifted/enlightened by others and generally look in a few times a day, morning and evening in the U.K., to catch up and soak up the available knowledge.
I come here as a supplement to my AA program. I go to meetings off and on, depending on the weather sometimes, and my health. I came originally because I had not been going to meetings for awhile, and went into a kind of crisis involving an alcoholic romantic partner, and then also went to face2face meetings again. It is good 12th Step experience here,,, both for my learning, and I hope for the benefit of others. Face2face meetings tend to be on a certain topic and it is not always the topic that is a burning issue with me, so I can come here and post on the topic I need support with, sharing my experience, strength and hope, and listening and growing from that of others.
I am interested in sticking to the AA program and principles. There are lots of other types of recovey groups and resources and sites that I visit that are other than AA also, but I want one that is really AA too.

Hey Buckeye...First things first ....Congratulations on the new Grand-daughter. How many grandchildren do you have? I have one, granddaughter...hence the Gammy.Never understood what people meant when they would say"Wait until you have a grandkid"...Now I know. It's awesome.
What are we here for...to share our experience, strength and hope with one another. To reach out to the still sick and suffering alcoholic.To tell people about AA and how to get there and what steps you must take once there.
I'm here to learn from others, to learn what worked for them, to learn tolerance, to learn to be a spiritual being in a human body.
I'm here to rejoice when good things happen in someones life, to celebrate with them and too cry when the sad things happen...deaths, divorce. It's kind of like learning to live life on lifes terms.I've been a little afraid to share much about me on the board lately...but thank God there were a few people who I could share with.I have an AA home group,I have known some there along time. I feel like I've known some of the people here for a long time and it just feels good.And it's just like my home group, if you leave for a little while , they always welcome you back with open arms.
So, I'm here to tell others about God's grace and mercy and how He set this old alcoholic free one day at a time.And I take what I like and leave the rest and what anyone else thinks of me is their business not mine.
