I got my 21 year token tonight...

Tonight was birthday night at my home group, we had dinner before the meeting. I got my 21 year chip.

Twenty-one years...7,692 days sober...one day at a time and today was the day that counted the most.Won't bore you with my story...it's not any different than anyone elses...different people, places and things involved, but basically the same as everyone elses. An uncontrolable obsession to drink, insanity, complusion...but it is my story.

I admitted I was powerless, came to believe a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity and I turned my will over to the care of God...worked the other steps.I try to carry the message of AA, of sobriety to the still sick and suffering alcoholic...because I know that if I don't give it away, God won't let me keep what I have.

I'm tired of sitting in rooms that are trying to take everyone elses inventory...why can't people, alcoholics just be who they are...why can't we just get our own house in order?

I am a miracle as is every alcoholic who has one day sober, and my God is not done with me yet. Thank you all for being here for this alcoholic...I wish for you peace, love for the unloveable, serenity, sobriety, compassion and tolerance, a true realationship with your Higher Power... most of all sobriety for today.

(((Hugs)))

Hi, Birthday Girl,

You have so much to offer, and you do offer it uncondtionally, all the time, so I just want to say "Happy Twenty First year" to you.  You represent to me Gammy, what this Program is ALL about, extending your hand and experience to the new Person, who is number one here.

We all need people in this  Forum/ 12 Step Program that we can look up to, and you my friend, ARE IT for me. When I need guidance, I just look for one of your Posts and or Responses, and find the Answer.  Guidance only comes in Spirituality, and you my friend, have that, overflowing in you life.

A lot of love is being sent your way, with a Big Hug, and Happy Birthday!

Toni

Oops! Had to go back and get the cake, sorry it's not edible, but the candles are real.

Hi Rose, Congratulations! 21 years! That's a long time.

Well done to you, I hope I can be strong enough to follow your example.

Bye for now,

Chris.
