Hello and welcome to all of you.  All of us (100's of regular sober posters here) were new comers once trying to find our way and get away from booze, which was killing us.  This board is a good place to get information about getting / staying sober, which would be utilizing the AA program.  It's not the only way but it's the way we did it and the focus of this board.  We are like family here and welcome all who have the desire to stop drinking.  If this is not your wish than there is probably another message board for folks that aren't quite ready to be sober lol, may it find you now.

With that said we don't have many rules here but here's a couple guidelines, please don't use vulgar language in your posts.  Substitute **** or *&$#*@,  we're pretty smart people and will know what you're trying to say.  Some of the stories I've read in the last day or so have been pretty graphic, and frankly unbelievable.  There are no saints in here, but we do have to keep in mind that there are a 1000 folks a day looking in here for help and we don't want them to go away because of someone's twisted sense of humor or vulgar writing.  Please don't make me hit the ban button, one of you is already gone.

Be nice and we'll get along just fine.  biggrin

Thanks StPD.

And yes, new folks, if you have questions like:

how can I tell if I am an alcoholic,

what is AA all about,

what is an AA meeting like,

how to find an AA meeting,

is AA 'right' for me, etc.,

Feel free to ask. We're here to help. And we're glad to offer encouragement and share our own experiences with getting sober and staying sober.

But if you're not here for anything like that, you probably won't get very much out of hanging around here.

Thank you Dean for the post ... a few posts were a little 'out there' ... ... ... and a little too graphic ... thanks for taking care of this brother ...
