ok so im new to this and up till latley i have been doing a good job of not drinking but it seems to get more and more difficult,i need a sponsor or at least some one to talk to ,i am serious about keeping myself sober and would like to kick it up a noch.so a friendly ear or a little chat would be helpfull at this time anyone out there?
Hi benny, Yes, we are here, Are you in AA, (you mentioned needing a sponsor) Have you been going to meetings? There is help available here, with the MIP Board too. This is a "we" program, so you don't have to feel alone. Some of the stuff that was Posted for StoneAgeDave, might help, Do you have access to meetings, what part of the country are you in, in an area where there are meetings?? Just some questions, Welcome to this Board, and it is a big first step! Good for you reaching out. Just like Phil said "Welcome to our little boat, come on in" A big Hug, Toni
Just want to say welcome Benny. It sounds like Phil is sharing his experience, strength and hope with you, that's a good thing. Remember we do this program one day at a time and somedays it's one minute at a time, but we can do it.
hi,, it sounds like you've done the first part,,, got and stayed sober... now it's time for the second part,,, recovery,,, that means addressing the stinking thinking that ends us up drinking. That's what the Steps are for. It really is not enough to just not drink,,, we need to change the patterns of behavior that get us drinking,,, or on a dry drunk. Develop better coping skills and social skills.

It's been real dry, windy at times and I can run around in a tee shirt.
For a long time I lived up in Wa. St. on the Pilchuck River. Even in the summer we had a moist breeze coming in off the river and in the winter it stayed about 15 deg. F. colder than in town. It was nice and green. No poisonous snakes or very many plants that like to jump out and stick ya'. The only part that was really obnoxious was the constant rain. Always a drizzle that keeps you damp and when it actually did rain, it was a drizzle that soaked you.
I am enjoying the dry sunshine.
And how about you at the top of the world threr, Phil?
you're in a good place here Benny, stick with it! Whatever's getting to you, just post it. Most times, just getting it out of your system will help a lot! Good luck!
