All good things we have are gifts from God. Even the faith with which we respond to God's grace is a gift from Him. All talents and strengths are from Him.
Yet God calls us to use what He has given us. He calls for us to work, acquire, learn, plan, and dream. Some of us aren't comfortable with the thought that God just might be calling us to be ambitious. That doesn't sound godly!
Kindness, love, and service all come first. But what is God telling you to get started, to work on in your life now?
Are you moving forwardor just sitting back and relaxing?
Lord, help me walk forward in all that You have for me to do. Thank You for a bright future! Amen.

Hi Pappy, In the past, everything I did was for my own glory. But, isn't that what we do when we're trying to be our own god???? Stepping down from my divine throne was what saved my butt.
Yeah, ... Funny you should say that the way you did Mike, ... I've built some incredible things and achieved some remarkable feats in my past and as I thought back on them after working on the steps, I realized I was insistent that everyone knew of my accomplishments ... I needed not just their approval, but their praise ... I didn't really think I was boasting back then but I was ... and when I went through the 12 & 12, It came to me that I was deep into the 7 deadly sins they mentioned from the Bible ... you know?, ... that actually scared me a bit ... enough so that I renewed my effort to be rid of my character defects ... (and yes, I'm still a 'works in progress', ... LOL)
