"There is a solution. Almost none of us liked the self-searching, the leveling of our pride, the confession of shortcomings which the process requires for its successful consummation. But we saw that it really worked in others..."
~Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, There Is A Solution, pg. 25~
"We are people who normally would not mix. But there exists among us a fellowship, a friendliness, and an understanding which is indescribably wonderful."
~Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, There Is A Solution, pg. 17~
Before sobriety I saw my shortcomings as just part of who I am.......no longer is this the case....Now I see them for what they really are - "character defects" and really screwed up ones at that! Progress not perfection allows me to work on these and do my best to change them or atleast curb them. My shortcomings can pop up out of nowhere at any given moment and I'm off and running before I realize it........
