Hi all.  I am not a regular poster to your side of the board but wanted to let you know of a sad event.  My husband, dadrrb, was a member of this site.  He didn't post often but read your posts faithfully and gained a lot of ES&H from all of you.  His name was Robert.  He passed away this past Sunday and we will bury him today.  You can view the obituary if you go to www.wacotrib.com and click on the obituary section (Robert Brader).  I wanted to let you all know how much the board meant to him.

Thanks so much.

Regina (aka Txmom on the Al-Anon side of the board)

Regina, I'm so sorry for your loss, it saddens my heart. The posting he did here always made me think.Mr. Spock....I remember copying Roberts post on grief.Regina, you and your daughter are in my thoughts and prayers.I'm a fellow Texan, way-up north, so this is close to home.

I went to the Al-anon board, I don't post there but I do read as I'm the wife of an Alcoholic and an AC and the posts there about Robert made me cry. I'm sad that I didn't get the chance to know him, I'm sad that this board seems to not be as active as the others. I know a few go to the chat-room, maybe more do than I realize.I want to be there, here when anyone reaches out for comfort. I know from the the posts that that's the type of person Robert was, giving to others even in his bad times and he will be missed by many.

(((Hugs)))

I remember reading some of Robert's (dadrrb's) posts.  He truly impressed me as being a solid member of our 12 step program.

He will be missed.

I offer my prayers for your peace through this difficult time.

Dan, an alcoholic

sorry for your loss.

there were many times that i would go into the chat room and he would strike up a conversation with me.  was scared to death because i never knew who he was, because he did not go on the board regularly.   He instantly made me comfortable when i finally did reply back one day. He seemed like a great guy with good intentions and a heck of a sense of humor.

may god be with you and your family

give the kids a hug for me and hugs to you as well.
