Well, thank God I'm feeling much better today, it has been a few days of pain. Tonight is birthday night and we always have a dinner, fried chicken tonight, I'm looking forward to the fellowship and the hugs.
My husband went to see his probation officer last Fri. , she said next time he will go straight to a two year rehab in Houston. He has now been sober 6 days, no job, working for friends doing odd jobs. He seems to be okay today...
I am just amazed he lived through this last drunk. The only thing I did was call everyone I know who believes in the power of prayer , ask them to pray. A few of the guys from AA came by , checked on him, but that was it. He really was trying to kill himself, but I guess it was not God's will. He finally came around and decided it wasn't working, so cleaned himself up and went through some sever withdrawals. He has an appointment to see a Dr. Monday .
I have a feeling there were a few prayers being said here for him and me also. Thanks !!! I know how to detach, and I now do it with love, I had a hard time with that one for years. It is so hard to watch another alcoholic, trying to kill themselves, when you know that if they will truly get honest with themselves and their Higher Power, that one day at a time they could live a clean and sober life.
Today I am a grateful recovering alcoholic who is so thankful to have a fellowship of others who understand where I came from.I hope you all have a great sober day! Keep it simple and do the next right thing.
H.O.W. - Honesty, Openmindedness, and Willingness - That's what keeps me sober one day at a time.
we never talk much. glad your life is settling down a bit. Prayer does work. Be good to youuself, do something nice for Gammy. God bless and hope things keep getting better.
