Hello all,

I am new to the board.  I have a week and a half sober, but I'm not new to AA.  (I had a year and a half and then relapsed for 7-8 months.)  I came across this board and I sometimes get bored at work during the day, so I figured this would be a healthy way to pass the time!

GA Peach,Welcome to MIP! Congratulations on a week and a half sober. I'm so glad you have found your way back. Are you going to face to face AA meetings?

Please keep posting,we will be here to share our experience, strength, and hope.

Yes, I live in Atlanta and there are meetings all the time!  I went to 7 last week!  I have a women's meeting tonight and I'm going to grab a bite to eat with a friend of mine before we go.

I'm having a hard time right now because of my boyfriend.  I think I completely freaked him out with this last relapse.  He is really distancing himself from me ... it's very hard!  He says he's doing it for my own good, because he feels like I was becoming too dependent on him.  (In regards to my sobriety - which is partially true.)  I'm trying to stay strong, but it feels like I've already lost him!

I just have to keep doing what I need to do and hopefully everything will fall back into place!

He is not in AA and he doesn't really understand alcoholism as much as I'd like.  I don't think he was convinced I'm an alcoholic until this last relapse.  He definitely knows now!!

He has offered to come see my therapist with me (she is in the program) and I think that if he hears it from a professional it will help!  It's one thing for me to explain it to him, but I think he will really get it if he hears it from her.
