Well I am sober 9 days today. It feels like 9 months!!!! I crave alcohol every day, and some days I dont know how I stay sober. So far the only way I know how to stay sober is to stay sleeping so I been doing a lot of that.
Great job! The cravings will get less and less. I just had to say...I can drink tomorrow...then repeat! Keep it up girl and if you have to sleep...do what you have to...get on your knees in the morning and at night and thank your HP for keeping you sober! It works if you work it!!!

nique, what is a favorite past time, other than drinking that you love or used to love?
Why don't you try to fill in that void with that love instead!
Your body is probably also getting some healthy sleep as the alcoholic toxins are being depleted from it. Drink plenty of water, and delicious juices, natural lemonade etc.
Find out where the AA meeting are...
editing in: ditto what iani said! Congrats on the tough first days of sobriety, "hang in there!!"
I am so happy for you!! In addition to what the others have said, I'll say get out of bed, pick up the phone, call your sponsor or someone else in the program and get to a meeting. If you can't get out of the house yet, ask for a meeting to be brought to you. This is a crucial time for you so surround yourself with the love that we AAs can give. You DON'T have to do this alone.
In the early days of my sobriety I kept myself as busy as I could catching up on housework that I had neglected while I was drinking, going for long, peaceful walks, getting to as many meetings as I could, reading as much AA literature as I could and talking with my sponsor or another recovering alcoholic every day. It all helped.
I also paid close attention to my diet as I hadn't eaten properly while I was drinking. I drank lots of water and fresh fruit juices, too.
Just hang in there and it will get better.
(((Hugs)))

Congrats! That is an awesome accomplishment. Sleep is good...but I gotta ditto the suggestion of a meeting. This website is totally cool and very supportive, but meetings are necessary for me. It makes the days go by sooooo much easier for the following reasons: 1. It builds a bigger and broader support network 2. The energy in the rooms is almost always very positive, loving and supportive. 3. It is a way to find a sponsor. 4. It can be your higher power until you figure out that whole confusing subject because the meetings are spiritual in nature. 5. There are people there with lots of sober time that stay sober by helping me/you/each other. 6. There are so many meetings that if you don't like one you can always try another (though I've never been to one that I didn't like in some way). 7. It hooks you up to sober events, parties, and fundraisers. 8. It keeps your day structured 9. It can give you a great sense of belonging because, while you don't realize it at first, the people are mostly just like you. 10. The meetings are often riotously amusing, funny, and entertaining....
Anyhow, this was and is MY experience with meetings. I said "you" because I'm confident at least a few of these would be true for you as well. I would send the list to David Letterman; however, that would bust several of the traditions....anonymity and AA being self promoting. I can and AM promoting it here though because this IS an AA site. The other thing Nique is I can tell you that you are going to get the suggestion to go to a meeting every time you post most likely. As you know, AA has a saying for pretty much anything (which I used to find offputting and it made me think AA was weird and Culty...but thankfully now do not) and one of the best ones is MEETING MAKERS MAKE IT..I pray that you will and we will be cheering you on the whole time.
