Fear as a Steppingstone ~ As Bill Sees It

The chief activator of our defects has been self-centered fear - primarily fear that we would lose something we already possessed or would fail to get something we demanded. Living upon a basis of unsatidfied demands, we were in a state of continual disturbance and frustration. Therefore, no peace was to be had unless we could find a means of reducing these demands.

For all its usual destructiveness, we have found that fear can be the starting point for better things. Fear can be a steppingstone to prudence and to a decent respect for others. It can point the path to justice, as well as to hate. And the more we have of respect and justice, the more we shall begin to find the love which can suffer much, and yet be freely given. So fear need not always be destructive, because the lessons of its consequences can lead us to positive values.

They say the opposite of fear is faith. By that reasoning my faith must be crap. I feel like I do live in a "state of continual disturbance". I also think I think about how I feel too damn much. I must need about 5 new pigeons and a coupla service comitments to get me by while Im going through these steps.

Thanks BR lol I heard a quote in a meeting the other day I liked ~ "Fear knocked at the door, faith answered & there was no one there.."

I don't know how to GodDang handover all the time either but I practice slowly ;)
