Cool pamphlet my husband found has this to say, I rather like it...
"I am personally convinced that the basic search of every human being, from the cradle to the grave, is to find at least one other human being before whom he can stand completely naked, stripped of all pretense or defense, and trust that person not to hurt him, because that other person has stripped himself naked, too. This lifelong search can begin to end with the first AA encounter>"
To me, that says alot...I have found I can share any horrific details of my life and a person in AA is accepting of any old stuff I can dish out! Chances are, theyve been there too!!!(or worse!)
Its all a LOVE thing!!!!
Nite, nite, Lani

Another AA'er might not be particularly shocked (or even surprised) at what others reveal about things the have done, because, as you said they have probably "been there, done that".
On the other hand they may not necessarily be accepting (so to speak) if they figure a little "tough love" is in order. (Kind of like a big brother or big sister might treat a sibling in trouble )
Thanks guys, I agree with all that you had to share except perhaps our warped minded Dean!!! Its not meant to be taken literally!!! Except of course we do have some nude meetings around here for the brave at heart!!!!! NOT!!!
I likened it to the fact that this is a program about honesty!!!! Being able to share with the knowledge that by doing so I may have yet one more 24 hours of sobriety!!! Lani
