The different ways we all drank and the reasons for not drinking now. For instance, I'm not one of those who had to have a drink daily, but when the urge to get drunk hit me it was full steam ahead! I never got a violent case of the shakes. What I did get were blackouts and felony charges for assaulting police officers! I thought I was drinking to lighten up my over-serious disposition when all alcohol really did for me was make me one mean ass biotch. That's part of the reason why I preferred to drink alone. It wasn't ME!! It was all of YOU pissing ME off!! lol
Remember that show back in the 80's called "Scared Straight"? Basically, that's what happened to me. I was facing to counts of assault against an officer and looking at jail time. That was my last drink and it was in jail that I had admitted I am powerless over alcohol, and it was the first time I had prayed in a looong time.
Nowadays, I jokingly share in meetings that if I had known how great it was going to be I would have kicked a cop's ass years ago!
