Hi Karen,

Thanks for the update, I was wondering how you were doing.

It's good to know that you are feeling a little better today and have a meeting planned for this evening.

Just hang in there and it does get better, as you know.

Take care,

Carol

Take care, KLT. I am praying for you. I am so glad WE don't have to go through this recovery thing alone. Hope you feel better, and enjoy the meeting.

love,
joni

Hi again and thank you both.

The problem I am having at the moment is I am very weak from not eating for days and cant seem to get anything inside me.  It just wont go down.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I am managing to keep lots of juice down but I def need to get some food inside me.

Aw - i dont like readon stuff like this-- of course, its familiar OBV--I know meetings are kind of 'naff' but you should def get your 'arse' to one. (<3 britishisms)

As far as the food thing goes, what always worked for me was cereal and milk. Both fo those things (milk specially) calm your stomach down and if you wait for the cereal to get real soggy before you eat it, it goes down real easy.  Lots of vitamins/minerals/calories too...

Bowl of soggy cereal in the morn always made me feel loads better and got me in tip topshape to start in on a bottle of whiskey by noon (dont do this)....

Progress report later plz..

Slimfast shakes, or Ensure. Slimfast has no medication or appetite supressants in it. It is just pure nutrition. Ensure is even better, with a lot of calories. I think either would be gentle on the stomach too. hope you feel better and can keep something in that tummy for long enough to get your energy back.

((((hugs))))

Hi again Karen,

If you can manage some soup or broth that will do you good. It's a start, and then maybe you could try moving on to something more substantial tomorrow or later today.

Or, how about some milky drinks like Horlicks or similar? The milk will help.

Take care,

Carol

Karen,
No great words of wisdom tonight. You're doing fine. Don't get to the summit without a few bruises. A step at a time........
Plain ole soda crackers eaten slowly. For me whether it has been morning sickness,
flu, or nerves.....that have given the quizzeees......these seemed to help. Kind of like the Ensure and Slimfast idea. My father was told Ensure.......to help curb the symptoms of
acid reflux. He has multiple health issues.......that causes nausea and this works for him.
Best to you,
Wanda

From a friends experience, dont drink to much water....Make sure you get some gatorade or sports drink in you and like the others shared, small things like crackers or cereal. My friend was so hung over and totally diluted all her electrolytes and ended up sicker from that then the hangover. Thanks for sharing and for your honesty....Keep coming back! This reminds of of the big book...."You people ruined my drinking!!!" Its not as fun as we remembered it was! Lani
