Hope all of you are well! I was just thinking how lucky I am to have such great new AA friends!!! From the people on MIP that allow me to share my true feelings and offer up hope and understanding and an unconditional love no matter what to the friends Ive met in meetings. Sure I have friends and family but Im amazed when people call out of the blue just to say hi, Im thinking of you and miss you!!! Its wonderful to see how they are growing and by just knowing and talking to them, I am growing!! If anyone is new or afraid to go to AA meetings, you dont know what youre missing! The hugs are worth it alone!!
I cant even express the feeling of being a part of something and feeling complete finally! Not that its all perfect but a heck of a lot better than what I had before!

I have to share this:  One of my old patients called me last night to say hi!!! She shared that she;s stopping chemo treament, her cancer has spread so bad and the new treatment makes her so sick, and will eventually go to hospice! She sounded great and I was so thankful that she called ME!!!! I told my husband, "Thats what its all about!!!" I had to laugh because when I picked up the phone she was singing the song I used to sing to her everyday when Id see her!!! God is good!!! Enjoy you day..As Phil says, it may be your last!!!!Laniwink

Hi Laurie,

I feel exactly the same way. I have made some wonderful friends on this board and I'm in daily contact with them even though we live in different countries.

I so know what you mean about anybody new or afraid to get to meetings. I can honestly say that everyone I have ever met in meetings is just a super person. I am so lucky.

Take care,

Carol

Hi Guys.. Hope your day went well....
Dean, I have to tell you....A few (hundred) years back my brother and I went on a bus trip to Cleveland to see the redskins and browns play. Kind of blurred from my memory at this time! Anyways, what a blast we had!! The best part was the redskins kicked butt!!! Being the only redskin fan on the bus, I had a riot on the way home while the others sulked!!! (Used to be a huge fan!)
Anyways, what a loss! So young and with a small child!! His dad's speech reminds me of the movie...WE ARE MARSHALL! If you didnt see it you have to. I cried the whole way thru it!
I had a patient whose son played for Blufton College and died on the bus trip this past year. Talk about trusting in God and going on with your life!! Here this guy loses his son, diagnosed with cancer and still kept his faith intact!! Best man you'd ever want to meet!!!

So as I said in my previous post, live life like its your last day!!! Bring some joy to someone, spend time with your loved ones and always consider yourself lucky every day!! My husband and kids think my "bubblyness" is crazy!!!! Maybe I tend to be a little too happy (ostrich maybe???) but I wouldnt have it any other way!! Lani
