Thanksgiving is just another day in this household. I'll work. Going in 2 hours early, so hopefully we can stay ahead of the very large volume that has started to roll in for Christmas. The good thing, holiday pay - TRIPLE time - tomorrow and Friday - WOO HOO! Afer work, will head to a f2f and hang out for a while. Alcathon started tonight and will run thru 1/2/08. Folks will be in and out all day tomorrow and bringing food!!!

Happy Turkey Day. Ya'll have a great one.......

Thanks for the mention, Laurie x Slumps are necessary for us to appreciate when we're back on our 'uppers'. I'm still dragging on up little by little but at least not along the gravel now! I was feeling dejected because my last works hadn't sent me the traditional leaving card etc in the post. Usually we have a little celebratory lunch & mark the occasion before leaving but I had to go a day or two earlier than expected due to some conflict - I had got caught up in the rules & didn't feel very confident in using discretionary powers when required. Too scared to upset the boss, see. Anyways, I came home to a card yesterday & a better payslip than I was expecting so I felt right ungrateful for sulking! My ex-flatmate said he will pay the £90 he owes for the phonebill & I'm still awaiting hopeful. Maybe long enough to get used to the idea of not getting it. I'll be patient a little longer. Just goes to show that we can't count on external factors to make us happy but I'm still trying to practice that from the inside. Let go! Anyhoo, enough of all that now. Glad you're settling in well. Don't miss us too much ;) Danielle x

In our family we each have a holiday that we host.  Ours (my hubby & I) is Thanksgiving.  My mom buys the turkey & I cook it, along w/some mashed potatoes.  The rest of the family brings the rest of the meal.  Each of us does our part for the holidays.
We will have about 20 people here tomorrow, so there will be plenty to do to prepare.
We each give thanks for something, followed by prayer.  At 4 pm we eat!
Happy Thanksgiving all!

Hi Lani,

Thanks for the mention.

I'm so pleased your new job is going great for you. Well done.

Your Thanksgiving sounds good with everyone around you either in the program or not drinking.

Happy thanksgiving everyone!

And, welcome to MIP, AuntK. It's good to have you here. I do hope that you'll stick around and share your ES&H with us.

Take care,

Carol

Old feelings, cravings came back.... Scary, but survived. Play the tape..Never was just a glass, more like the bottle!!! Good news, wont burn anything or have lumpy gravy this year!
