Feeling so much better :)

Hey y'all,
it probably sounds like I've been on a rollercoaster ride lately....  doing ok, then doing bad, then doing ok again....  lol   I'm at my mom's now, she and my little brother came and picked me up this morning.  Starting yesterday I'd switched my pain pill to every 8 hours instead of 12 hours, and I think it's helping, have not had too much pain today at least.  I overdid it a bit this morning trying to get my stuff together, wound up hurting a bit but not bad, was mostly just kinda shaky and weak feeling...  I'm needing more rest than I'll admit to I think...  that might also be the steroids still in my system that didn't agree with me...  I sat up a bit too much today, was starting to hurt a bit before time for my meds....  but the pain today has been minimal, mostly just dealing with the sciatica but it hasn't been too bad either for the most part.

So I'm feeling a whole lot better, just still needing to take it easy.  I kinda want to cut back to the meds every 12 hours again, to see if it's the meds making it better or if maybe I'm just starting to heal up some....  but also not too eager to risk dealing with that kind of pain again if it is just the meds working....  think I'm just gonna pray about that and see how I feel about it in the morning.

My mom let me bring my dog and kittens...  the kittens have to stay in my bedroom, and my dog is mostly staying in my bedroom or outside...  my mom can't stand animal hair getting all over the house, her pets are outside animals  lol   My poor dog is so jealous though, my mom prefers cats over dogs, so she gives tons of attention to the kittens....  and my brother has given the kittens a lot of attention too...  but he's giving my dog some much needed playtime also, I haven't been able to play with her because she always wants to play tug of war, and I can't do that right now....   but she really wasn't too happy when we came in the bedroom tonight and the kittens had taken over her bed.....  but she's dealing with it....  They're in her crate, and she has another blanket on the floor she can sleep on  lol

Anyway, I need to get some sleep...  definitely did not rest as much as I should have today and I'm pretty worn out

Love and Hugs,
Lisa

There seems (to me) to be a "direct link" between alcoholism and degenartive disk disease in women. There are many in my HG that suffer from it, too, to include sciatica, ruptured disks &  narrowing of the spine..????????......I've wondered too, if the weather plays a part in my pain. I've noticed when it's warm and damp it seems to flare up more. The prednisone I'm on seemed to be working, until Thursday. I've had a hell of a time since then. Only getting some relief from Icy Hot patches and packing my whole left side in ice to be able to sleep weirdface

Careful of the pain meds, hun. When we take more than prescribed, it's just plain old 'using' . Don't trade one addiction for another.

((((hugs))))

((((((((((((doll))))))))))) hope your pain eases up soon... I'm not sure about the weather affecting it, I haven't noticed that much with me... our weather here has been usually cold at night, warm during the day... some cool days too... Autumn down here is the most annoying season... switching back and forth from A/C to heat or shutting it off and opening the windows.... I slept with the windows open night before last because I had it 65 degrees inside and was still hot and didn't want to freeze up the A/C by running it when it was so cool outside... woke up yesterday morning and it was 58 degrees in the house and I was freezing lol

I'm being careful with the meds, it is still under doctor's orders to take it every 8 hours instead of 12. I'm not sure if it's taking the meds more often that is easing my pain, or if it has just finally let up a bit... giving it a couple days then going back to every 12 hours on the meds and see how it goes. I'm feeling really drugged out with taking the meds more often, and am not liking this feeling, but prefer this over the severe pain I was in. But I don't like taking meds at all really, and will try cutting it back to 12 hours probably tomorrow, or maybe even 10 hours, the dr had said 2 or 3 times a day was ok.

I've sat up probably more than I should today, and my back is just a bit achy, but it's tolerable at least. Sciatica is still acting up off and on, but usually not the severe pain I was getting from it... So just gonna keep taking it easy... gonna see if I can get a nap... been kinda dozing off and on, just really tired.
