Hiya all! Met my new friend from "the program" for dinner then to the AA variety show. What a great night! The show was hilarious and lots of great talent of all sorts! Its a 3 nite thing and it was packed tonight. Im actually lucky that where I live there's a million things to do with your AA buds. Good for me cuz I like to stay busy and have FUN! Kind of a rough day for me. I had "drinking" dreams last night (strange because in the dream I had a huge AA party but there was booze on the counter). That sort of set the tone for the day. Dangling ideas of drinking came to mind sparatically throughout the day. Drove me crazy..But used the old tool box-went to a meeting, called people, prayed, kept busy, then met my friend. The danger was upon me because my hubby went to the Ohio State game and thats typically when I would meet the "Old" girls and party! But survived AND stayed sober! Thinking back on my day I know what the problem was...Didnt pray when I got up! Lesson learned!!! Someone brought up the topic at the meeting: He's Back to work and used to drinking on friday, etc... Great thing to hear b/c now Im mentally prepared for my return to work and not coming home for cocktails! Old routine! Or trying to sleep without a couple beers in me... Im glad this was presented to me, Im sure thru my HP, now I can be on guard! The LOrd works in mysterious ways!
What a battle all this can be, quite overwhelming at times, but thankfully got thru today with a little help from my friends. So, thanks for letting me share!! Lani (2 more days of "vacation" then back to the grind!!)
