Hey everyone! Hope everyone here is doing well... I'm all settled in now, going to some really good meetings, meeting some great people.... got 6 months yesterday... I have a temporary sponsor now.... finally "finished" my 4th step but am wanting to either get to know my temp sponsor better first, or find a priest to do my 5th step with.... but I really like my temp sponsor and think I can trust her... Memphis is having their roundup this weekend, but think I'm going to skip it, and go to an AA cookout down here, get to know the people here better...
Well, I'll be getting my newest addition to the family in just a bit... an adorable little kitten!! We got a lot of heavy rain lately, and well, that's when I found out I had mice..... guess they came in to keep dry lol As much as I love animals, I'm deathly afraid of mice... in a cage they're fine, I've had pet rats and hamsters and all that.... but running around my house.... I freak out! lol Had a trap set, but these are smart Mississippi mice (yes, I guess there is *some* creature in mississippi that is smart lol) I don't like to use poison and didn't have any. I did finally put a saucer of antifreeze in a cupboard last night, hoping that might take care of them.... but my sponsor said the only way to keep them out is going to be to get a cat or two.... She didn't need to say any more than that, I've been looking for something to justify me getting a cat LOL
Here is Lily...
There is a woman in town who feeds all the strays around her house... we have no animal shelter or animal control out here. She said there's getting to be way too many to feed, and the mama cats are not tame at all, she can't catch them or even pet them. So she has started taking away the babies, feeding them with milk replacement and keeping them tame, and then finding them homes. She's got 4 right now ready for homes, Lily is one of them..... I'm actually seriously thinking about getting two, one of the boys looks like he'd be a really good mouser. But there is another female that I haven't seen a pic of, and she sounds like she might look like my little tabbico I left in Nebraska... and that's going to be really tempting.... lol
Also.... I have 30 chicks coming the second week of November..... LOL Yeah, I have no self control at all.... my friend from Iowa is coming down for Thanksgiving, and said he'd help me start on the coop to get ready for the spring.... he found some coop plans at a hatchery near here and was thinking about picking them up for me... well, I got to looking at the hatchery's site, and they ship chicks year-round.... and I couldn't resist lol So I've got 10 black australorps, 10 silver laced wyandottes, and 10 giant blue cochins coming to me.... lol And planning to at least get silkies and silver phoenixes in the spring, and of course guineas and a few turkeys..... lol
Um, Phil? I told ya I wouldn't get in over my head and wind up with 100 like you did??? LMAO
Anyway, enough rambling from me.... I'm bouncin off the walls with getting all my little babies..... lol and just wanted to let y'all know how things are goin...
What a little cutie!!! Im afraid my dog would like to eat it tho!!! Sounds like your doing great! Congrats on 6 months! That is huge! You sound like your happy! Enjoy your day!! Lani

Hi Lisa, Geeze my impatience was growing wondering how you were doing. Prayers really are answered. (Now will the ones regarding the impatience be heard...LOL) It is trully great to hear everything seems to be going so positively great in your life. ONLY a hundred chicks..... Wow....selfrestraint. LOL You make me smile with all that youthful enthusiasm. (Also a bit envious. Ha) I'm sure in no time you'll have your farm up and going. A BIGGGGG Congrats on the 6 mos. Nice all the recent changes were coped with so well. Sounds like everything is the way it is suppose to be for. Keep us posted. Continued success. Wanda
Thanks y'all :) I'm gettin my 6 month chip tonight at the birthday meeting! :) And I've got my hands full with these little kittens..... they're adorable, but god are they playful.... lol
lol Wanda... *prays for patience for wanda* I've just been pretty busy lately, I did check in a couple of times here since moving in, but have been keeping busy between job hunting.... and looking up chicken coop plans.... lol My house is finally mostly furnished.... Fred's has nice cheap furniture lol Got a little 2 person dining table for $60 there, and some cute little shelves with canvas drawers to use as a dresser and nightstand..... and some cheap bookshelves... but I've got one empty bedroom that I gotta furnish still, I'll be getting a new bed pretty soon to go in there, and my first sponsor said if I can hold off awhile, she's getting a new bedroom suite and I can have her old dresser and nightstand... might run out to the furniture store I found near here, they've got a sale on mattresses right now..... gotta love credit cards..... lmao
Been fighting with my exhusband, and well, he is *finally* saying he will get the rest of my stuff to me (some larger items I hadn't been able to move out of his apartment) and will have the rest of the money he is supposed to pay me, so that we can "be done with each other" as he so nicely put it..... LOL
My dad doesn't know I ordered the chicks.... he knows I'm getting them, but thought I'd get them next spring.... so he came over the other day, and I hid all the chicken stuff I'd bought..... LOL He doesn't know about the kittens yet either... He really doesn't care, he knows that I gotta have a zoo lol but I just didn't wanna tell him about the chickens just yet....
Your kitten is beautiful. That picture is just kissable. And congratulations on 6 months. That is such a great time. You have so much beauty ahead of you. Hang on Baby, the ride is unforgettable.
