"Reach into the stream, and try to pick up as much water as you can by clenching your fists tightly around it. Hold up your hand and see how much you could hold.
Now turn up your palms and cup them as in supplication, and place them in the stream. Lift your hands and see how much you can now hold, without using force.
This is the way of the Tao." (lesson from a Tao master)
I tried this and it really works! get in that space where you can really visualize it.
Just in case you are having a rough day, here is a stress management technique recommended in all the latest psychological journals. The funny thing is that it really does work. Picture yourself lying on your belly on a warm rock that hangs out over a crystal clear stream with both hands in the cool, fresh running water. Birds are sweetly singing in the cool, pristine mountain air. No one knows your secret place. You are in total seclusion from that hectic place called the world. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity. The water is so crystal clear that you can easily make out the face of the person you are holding underwater. See? It really does work. You're smiling already.
Oops, meant to quote this: "Just in case you are having a rough day, here is a stress management technique recommended in all the latest psychological journals. This may not have been the original point but I loved it none the less.
