Labor Day weekend (in the US)........and to many that means an extra day of "vacation".   There are festivities going on in many cities and towns.  Barbecues, camping,
swimming, boating ect.   And many of these activities will/do include alcohol.   By Tues.
morning the papers will be filled with the stats from police reports........DUI's, accidents,
fights,..........and deaths.

This is the holiday that is often referred to as the "close" of summer activities, with children and other students returning to school, lakes closing their beaches, ect.  Winter
is just around the corner......ugh!

Law enforcement officials have doubled their manpower to curb offenses.   They can
only do so much.  The remainder of responsibility "is on the shoulders" of the average
citizen..........us.

WISHING EVERYONE A SAFE, SOBER, AND ENJOYABLE WEEKEND.   Wanda

PS.   Within a few short hours of each other, there were two boating accidents (drownings) on a lake in my area according to a tv report last night.  This is, if recalled
correctly, like the 4th in as many weeks and the 6th this summer!!!!   The investigations
of these latter were still in the very earliest stages therefore details/causes were not
revealed.   It is almost a sure bet what the REAL culprit was!   Would gladly give up
the winnings if that is wrong.

Outta Dodge.....countryside......quiet? Hmmmm, must've found a spot that the underage
drinkers have found yet. Lucky you!!!! Here in my area......the country is the very spot
the young ones all "hide out"! And some of the parents even "allow and donate" their homes
for use.
Just love the weekends........ My road happens to be the "backdoor" that is used for getting to those "hotspots" to avoid the cops. (The parent thing is about to change, however. Gov. just signed into law that will be a "NO, NO" and there will be hefty fines.)
Then there is Mon. morning......dodging the empties on the way to work. Tues. will be fun
as the roadway I travel go through two small towns both having weekend festivities.
As for me........I'm staying in Dodge with exception of traveling to do some grocery
shopping......a short trip. Have found Dodge quiet serene in the confines of the 4 walls of
my home. LOL
Suppose if you put those 5 to 10 percenters in the slingshot, you could whack them up
the side of the head and knock some sense into them? LOL Just a thought.
You too have a great weekend.

Approximately 55% of all traffic fatalities which occur on Labor day are alcohol related.
