WOW..GUESS WHO CAME TO A MEETING

(((((((((((((GUYS))))))))))))

You will not believe this. I didn't, you all know I opened a f2f group. And tonight I didn't feel like going. I was tired after working all week. And the other woman who goes with me text me to apologise, she couldn't make it...argg. So I said "Ally Girl, YOU made a commitment to this group"..I got up, gave myself a shake, and went out, smiling...And OMG, I had a new person at the meeting. She was an "American"...lol How awesome is that.....

Hmmmm...Was my HP, trying to tell me something.... For the last year and more, I have been in constant communications with Americans, Canadians, Australians to name but a few. And here she was...lol

We went on to have a great meeting. There was only 4 of us there. And her es&h was wonderful.....

I have also been reading all the replies to my post, and I have received some e.mails...And somewhere in all of that. I have realised that I do have so much to give to Al-Anon. F2f and online...I have received so much help from others, and gave so much back to them..Should that have to stop, because I don't like something, or someone's words...
Someone said the other day, isn't it funny how we learn by going "Through" stuff in our lives.   Maybe this was a lesson for me afterall. A part of my growth within my programme.. I do not need to be "perfect", do get "Approval" from each and everyone in my life...Maybe I just need to be "Lynn"....

I myself have admitted no one person is bigger than al-anon..Should I maybe think on that one....

I feel my heart is so full tonight. "An American alanut, at Ally's f2f" Who would have though it....lol

Who was it who said "off all the bars in the world you came into mine"..lol (was that in a movie)...Anyway...I got an American at my f2f...woohoobiggrin

I learned a new word too.."Neat" lol

Your in recovery

I'm glad, too, that you came up with the perspective that nobody is perfect.  Nobody in AA ever gets to be perfect, and it is 'progress and not perfection'.  And it is not possible to say all praising things towards everybodys' posts, nor think that all mine are beyond constructive criticism.  If we are alanoners or ACoAers we cannot expect  our  'A's to ever get to be perfect, or that we are going to be perfect to them.  What we do here is to learn to accept life on life's terms and to cope with things  in more healthy and positive ways, all around.  That also takes a lot of patience, and forgiveness.  I've been told that we all have the right to be wrong.   I'm glad you are going to stay in this boat filled with imperfect people, sharing all of ups and downs,  pros and cons, and working through it all.

love in recovery,

amanda
