The doctor finally called me back over a week after having my MRI... I'm so sick of dealing with that dr's office... Anyway, they said the dr looked at my results, and I have a disc that is protruding but it's not herniated and said to stay on the meds they prescribed (muscle relaxers... that's going to help a disc?) and do physical therapy... Well, I told them I've an appt set up with my friend's dr, who is a *really* good dr. So they're sending my records over there. And ya know, the dr had said they wanted me to come in to go over my results and they didn't even mention that at all. That dr's office has been nothing but a pain in the butt.
So anyway, I see this other dr on June 22nd... And my roommate saw him about a week ago, and said it's the most thorough physical exam he's ever had, said this dr is really good.
Anyway, got to a meeting tonight... and got hit on by a newcomer lol But it was a good meeting...
And flying out tomorrow evening to go down to Memphis... I'm so excited! My roommate will *finally* be home in a little bit, he's taking me to dinner... I went to our friend's house yesterday where my roommate's been for the past 2 weeks and stayed the night, and he was supposed to come home earlier today to spend some time with me and go to a meeting... but... he's always late. Anyway, he'll be home soon... yay! :) I've missed him so much...
Gonna get to tons of meetings while I'm in Memphis, I'm so excited about seeing my homegroup down there! :)
I'll be dreading coming home... lol saw my sponsor at the meeting tonight, she said when I get back I'll be starting step 4... eek! I've gone through the first 3 steps (again) in less than a month...
Hi Lisa, Do hope the 2nd doctor is able to use the results of the MRI to your advantage. Hope- fully correct the disc. It sounds serious to me, but then I'm no specialist. Hope your trip is a wonderful experience. Let us know how it is going. Nice to know your planning on meetings. Take care.
Whew! Sometimes just knowing is half the battle.........been there, done it, many times. Those disks are tricky little bastards! Hope the Doc at least told ya to take it easy. Be careful of car accidents, flying, roller coasters, playing chicken - all it takes it one little jolt and that sucker can rupture.
I know the pain you feel, you're in my prayers, hun.

I'm sorry that you have this problem with your back. Please try to take it easy, won't you? But, the second doctor that you have planned to see sounds good and I'm sure that he'll be able to give you as much help and advice as you need.
I do hope that you'll have a super trip home and enjoy being back at your home group.
Take care,
Carol
