Just curious on others views on this statement as regards to AA and its message to the alcoholic ?

I am an addict, and have made no pretence to be anything else on this forum. Would also like to know your views on that, am i welcome or should i go elsewhere to find recovery?

Thank yousmile

First and foremost I'm only one person but I consider you welcome I am only an alcoholic but I still believe that its a disease of addiction and I think NA says that as well. Second I do believe you need meetings and a sponsor to get well online can help but you need f2f meetings

Thanks Bryansmile Yes the need is for f2f just dunno where and am curious about attitudes and also looking at the big picture ( keepin it in the day lol) if i choose to sponsor what kind of message do i haveconfused In all honesty i think my decision is made and that i will soon start to attend AA and rather than making plans just wait and see what comeswink

I'm a straight up drunk (sober 11 years), but many who helped me get sober were addicts. I'm with Phil on this one. Hang out and share some recovery.

Yes Phil i've had a wee look and often visit the UKNA website, seems i have a foot in both camps, think i prefer AA's literature though. Haven't encountered problems in AA around this stuff but NA seem precious about 'their' message and start to throw trad 5 around at the mention of Bill Wbiggrin On the whole i get something out of both, i guess it's like you say take what you want and leave the rest.idea

alligot.... I agree with everyone that has posted... keep coming if it helps. I learn something from everyone here whether they are in AA, NA, Al-Anon etc... I think we are all trying to achieve the same goal... to get and stay sober... glad you are here biggrin

Do you see the "hand" extended to you..... It has been mentioned before........ I searched
various avenues to learn how to cope with alcoholism..... it was not my addiction/problem.
Here is where I've found life again. AA made a difference. Know you are among "friends"
who have journeyed their way through their own respective "hells" and found light at the
end of the tunnel. There is hope for anyone here. Welcome
