Got 2 of my chicks named... the silver laced pullet is Arwen, she's the only one I know the sex of. The black and yellow bantam is Aiden. I've got 5 gender neutral names picked out for the others I can tell apart... Kaden, Cameron (Cammi for short), Devin, Reagan, Quinn... can you tell I like names that end with N? haha... and I lean more towards celtic names mostly... Just haven't decided which name goes with which bird...

The rest I'll have to wait until they start feathering more so I can hopefully tell them apart... and by then I'll know their sexes, so can do gender specific names...

Girls names I'm thinking of... Eavan, Keelan, Moreen, Morrigan, Aislin, Brenna, Keelia, Keely, Kenna, Kylie, Marilla, Moira, Neala, Rowan

Boys names I'm thinking of... Braeden, Cailan, Cullen, Devlin, Ewyn, Keaghan, Kellan, Kieran, Merlin, Orin, Owen, Quillan, Riordan, Terran

My roommate asked where the heck I got the names lol and he only knows about Aiden and Arwen lol He'll probably change all their names...  I went through all the celtic girls names on a website, the boys I had just gotten through names that ended in N  lol  had plenty from that so I stopped looking

I gotta come up with more girl names though...  praying I have more hens than roosters...  cuz...  we can't have more roosters than hens...

I doubt I'll even be able to remember all their names  lol  well, my favorites I will be able to, but, I got way too many babies now...  lol

Well it sounds like you're sure having fun with it! It's so neat when we sober up and find all these cool ways opening up to us--would you have believed a year ago if someone told you that in a year you'd be excited about naming baby poultry? My family couldn't get over it when I opened a goat dairy. let alone when I'd get all excited about artificial insemination and what bucks that made available to my herd for improvements. There really is nothing as satisfying (for some of us) as living close to the land and its creatures.

I can't wait to see what you go through when you start having kids, LOL. Keep on keepin' on, Lisa, it's alot of fun to watch. Isn't it nice that we have this board to come to with the neat sober stuff to share? What a great thing that the newcomer has both the experience and strength posts and the sharing posts of people discovering the joys of a sober life! Love, Chris

Me?  have kids?  hahaha...  nope, no kids for me.  Not planning on it anyway.  If it just happened...  well, then I suppose I'd be happy about it, but don't really want kids.  Animals are more for me...  I don't have the patience and tolerance for kids at all.   Although, I have been joking with people that now that I plan to be a farmer I need to get busy having my 8 kids to put to work on the farm  lol

Yup, you're right, I wouldn't have believed it if someone had told me a year ago that I'd be doing all this now  lol...

I temporarily have another turkey, one of my friend's turkeys had something wrong with his leg, well, they're in hog pens because my friend used to run a large hog farm...  the flooring isn't right for birds.  We took him in to our friend that's a vet, it looks like it's a torn ligament, and Doc taped his legs together to hopefully heal it straight.  So...  since my friend wouldn't have the time to take care of him, I'm keeping him for now, having to keep him in a box on his side, since he can't move around, and take him out every so often and give him food and water...  so...  I finally got all my chicks with eye infections better, and now I got another to take care of...  and I'll probably get attached to him and wind up keeping him  lol My friend wouldn't care, that'd just be one less thanksgiving or christmas she has a turkey for (she's got at least 75 turkeys right now)  lol

These turkeys are driving me crazy tonight!!!  not the hurt one, the other 6, they won't shup up!  Roommate just asked what they're crying about, I have no idea.  They have food and water, they should be warm enough...  I thought *maybe* they were cold since it's been cool in the house today, so I put the 100 watt light on them, which they seem to like having it on anyway, and they're still hollering...  Maybe I should go sit in there with their cage door open and let them peck at me some more  lol  that's what they like to do.
