Aw, shucks. Thank you, Phil! I have so much to be thankful for in that area of my life. It is actually that I should thank my children for all the joys they have given me!! I WAS/AM TRULY BLESSED!!!!
This is my 1st Mother's day as a widow. While my kids are really over the top, making it terrific, its nice to have some grown-ups pat me on the back, too... much as my husband would have, if not for the &%##@~!@%^ cancer.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you AA Mother's out there, as well.
Hope this day is great for everyone. Now don't get me wrong I am not on a sympathy train or anything like that but this day for me is just another day of work and going to a meeting. You see my children still don't have much to do with me - my daughter is off in a new life and my son thinks it is nothing special and I am O.K. with that. Just my thoughts at this moment in time. Hope all of you mothers had a great day off, I know I did. Spent the weekend hanging out with my daughter, whom had went out and got me a BIG PINK Teady bear the says thanks mom, I love you mom and happy mothers day. Also along with a box of chocolates.
My daughter and I went to a Country Video dance on saturday, since I had to work last nite. And to my amazement and hers we had a great time, didn't realize that my little girl could dance.
This really makes me greatful for both my children and truly blessed. By the way I danced like there was no tomorrow.
Well I guess that I was wrong about yesterday - when I arrived home from work there were two messages on my machine from my son - he wanted to come over and make me supper then to top it all off my daughter phones me and we talk for a long, long time, so it was more than just another day - it turned out to be a great day after all. When my son left to go home he said to me it was much better than the last few years then he told me that he loves me. Hearing that made my heart swell up until it was about to explode.
