Hey Man im always tired, ive been off uni cos im really tired out!! i go to bed at 10-11 and get up at 9 and i cant be bothered to do anything, i want to do stuff but i feel demotivated!! not got a bad head on i dont think you guys get this? any tips
Is this a "new" thing? ....... For me, for the first 6-8 months of sobriety all I wanted to do was sleep......When I saw my doc and we chatted about it, he said it was pretty normal. It takes the body a good long time to 'recover' from the damage I'd done for sooooo many years.
Still have those days, but they are getting fewer and farther between.
Important thing; Listen to your body. If you're tired, REST..
This too shall pass (with condersation of the fact you don't have an illness of some kind.)

Yup, that sometimes happens to me and, as Jen said, I just listen to my body and take plenty of rest. It does get better. If you're still not feeling too good you could always have a word with your GP and see what he/she says.
Take care,
Carol

On the other hand, that is one of the classic signs of depression, and I think I remember you haveing problems with depression before. One of the things to do for depression is to make yourself do things even when you don't feel 'motivated', and then you'll be glad that you did accomplish something. It is springtime here now,, and we get outside to get over our winter SADD depression. You are getting 11 hours sleep, and that can sometimes make an inertia where 'things at rest tend to stay at rest'. You are enrolled in classes? but missing a lot of them? not good,,,,, get your butt up and out to class!
love in recovery,
amanda

When I'm too tired/lethargic I usually associate it with my depression. It's something I've lived with most my life so I first try not to beat myself up over it.
Well, what I do is I just force myself to get up and do stuff . . . I know, not terribly helpful. I find borrowing a books on tape from the library sometimes motivates me to work out when I don't feel like it because I get to listen to a story and I do love stories. Long walks are great versus a gym because you simply can't get off the stationary bike when you feel bored--you still gotta walk all the way back home.
Once I get a routine going I find I have more energy and that's what I've been working on. I do have more energy now then I did a couple of months ago.
Take care Robert and it's nice seeing you on the board!
If it's truly a symptom of your depresion, Id suggest seeing your specialst. See if he/she can prescribe anything non-narcotic. Also make yourself eat healthy foods, that always helps. And my personal favorite... work the program hard. Best wishes.
