Today makes 1 week sober... I'm getting to more meetings now, my sponsor said to at least go every other day. I was going every day, but couldn't make it to one Saturday because we were picking up my friend's chicks, and couldn't make it to one yesterday because I had to pick up another turkey before they closed... lol got to one tonight though.
Been keeping busy... these baby birds are a handful! But all that we have now are healthy and doing good, my little guinea is my favorite, my baby... he knows me as his mama lol I put him on the floor and he walks around and then runs right back to me for me to pick him up. I haven't named them yet... cuz I can't tell them apart lol my friend said I should paint all their toenails different colors so I can tell them apart lol
Here's my little baby that made it...
Need to come up with a name for him... but... right now we're just sorta guessing he's a boy... don't know for sure lol won't know until he's older. I've got him really tame now, some of the turkeys will come right up to me, and the duck I have in with the guinea is pretty tame now, but the 2 ducks that are in with the turkeys don't want me to mess with them much at all.
Here's my turkeys and the guinea piled up sleeping... had to take the guinea out of there, found out she could fit through the bars of the cage...
Here's one of the turkeys...
I'm learnin what farm life is all about... trying to keep the house up, and get stuff done outside... I'll be working in the garden some tomorrow. We're planting the crops pretty soon, and things will slow down a little after planting. Went and got my hair chopped off yesterday... cuz it's too hot working outside, and then coming into a house with no A/C... lol Well, I guess the good thing is, I'm too busy to even think about drinking lol
Well Done on your week Lisa x I've never seen a baby turkey chick before. They're gorgeous. I hope not for human consumption?? =S That would just be too cruel to show us first! lol Happy Sober Day x Good luck in your journey, Danielle x

no Danielle, not for consumption lol They're my babies :)
My friend brought me another guinea today, gotta get him tame now. I don't know how I'll tell them apart once they're both tame... right now the only way to tell them apart is the new one runs when I put my hand in the box lol I've got a cage full of turkeys right now, but my friend's taking most of them home with her and leaving my 6 with me. And I've gotten another turkey, she got it from the store for free today... he's got something wrong with his leg and needed to be put in with the guineas where he won't get trampled. We're not sure if it will heal or if he'll make it.
I haven't gotten the turkeys as tame as my little guinea... because there's so many of them I just sit by the cage and take them out one at a time and hold them for a bit, but my little guinea I have out a whole lot and he's really attached to me. :)
Thank God for that! lol What's all the pet's names in your avatar? Green Acres certainly does look like a cool place to be. I hope you're enjoying peace there Dxx

The chickens all have names... but don't ask me what they are lol my roommate would have to tell ya lol
The dark grey bird with white spots is Jenny the guinea, it's what my little baby guineas will look like when they grow up.
The black and white cat is Bobbie Bushea. The black and white border collie is Sadie. The yellow striped cat is Sissy... whom we've figured out is pregnant... so we'll have more kitties soon! And the german shepherd is my baby, Callie.
My roommate has named my tame guinea Jimmy... but... we still don't know if it's a boy or girl lol But he thought it'd be cute to have Jenny and Jimmy the guineas lol
We'll have sheep here next week probably.... our neighbor pastures some of his sheep here after planting, to eat up all the weeds. And in the fall after harvest he'll put some of his cows over here to clean up the field.
Great job, Lisa, on the one week! And adorable pictures! Until your post, I don't think I'd ever seen a baby turkey . . . I don't think I can finish this bowl of turkey chili now . . . Have a beautiful day!!!!!!
