The getaway for "a few days" turned into a week. The Lost Coast of California was more beautiful and soul-soothing than I had remembered. No phone in the room. No cell phone reception. Peace and quiet but for the surf crashing outside the bedroom balcony door. A heard of about two dozen deer that made the rounds every evening (I was thinking of venison steaks but S.W.M.B.O. thought it may not be a good idea) from the hills to the shore. We got to walk the black sand beaches of that area and, being woodworkers who enjoy making our creations from scratch, harvested some pieces of trees (driftwood) to take back with us. On the return trip we stopped to see my nephew in Marin Co. just North of San Francisco and spent two nights in that general area. We found some great deals on exotic woods that will be used for inlay at a place there before returning home last Wednesday (I think). This past week at home has been busy, busy trying to play catch-up with the jobs we had lined up before leaving. Lots of work to do and I'm feeling the pressure but if that's the price I had to pay for the trip, I'd do it again toworrow (after finishing the current work, of course!). Reading catch-up on this site took a good while but was fun and interesting as always. I'm trying to get back into checking in as often as I was before and will be able to within the next week. As the pig says; That's all folks! Love in recovery...Tim the Wandering Alkie

That sounds so wonderful, Tim. I bet it's been years since you've done something like that for yourself, eh? Next time, get on 101 and just take it on up the coast. Bring your tent and fishing pole. Outside right now, the sun is shining thru the snow falling, and I just spotted a great blue heron sitting by the stream next to our deck. Those are the type of things that make me take a breath and say a prayer of thanks. Welcome home, Chris
