An older friend of mine always lived by the rule, "Let your conscience be your guide. Whenever he was faced by a tough decision, he said, "I stop thinking and I start feeling." For this wide old gentleman, wisdom came from listening not so much to his mind, but more to his heart. He always told me that he knew deep down inside whether or not he was making a good choice. Whenever he tried to do what he knew wasn't right' a feeling crept over him, and he could not rest easily until he did what was right.
Truly, God has given us a conscience, a "still small voice," an inner wisdom which guides us and comforts us when we remain true to its instruction. When we choose to ignore the wisdom of our sonscience, we face feelings of guilt and anxiety. When we pay close attention to the wisdom of our heart we find that there is special comfort. Doing what we know to be right offers not only freedom from guilt but also a joy which comes forth from our soul. Christ rejoices each time we open ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Often God speaks to us through our conscience. If we listen, God will preserve andkeep us.
Just my thought at this moment in time Later - Jeannie
