Hi, I was wondering, are severe headaches a common withdrawal symptom? I've gone eight days without alcohol and I started getting headaches around the same time--I didn't make the connection until last night. I usually don't get headaches and I'm very conscious about eating right and staying hydrated so I know they can't be from a lack of nutrition or hydration. Anyway, I thought I'd check in with you guys here and see if headaches are common occurence when giving up drinking. Thank you, Laura
When I first stopped drinking I had a very bad headache for about ten days. I tried taking pain killers but they didn't really work for me. I just hung in there until it went. It just shows how alcohol really does affect our bodies.
But, you are doing everything right with sensible eating and drinking lots of non-alcoholic fluids.
Well done on eight days without a drink! You're doing really well and should be proud of yourself.
Take care,
Carol
